An 89-year-old grandmother proved age is nothing more than a number when she agreed to be one of her granddaughter’s bridesmaids, joining a group of the bride’s closest friends – and proving she could more than keep up with the younger member of the bridal party.
Christine Quinn, from Plymouth, Pennsylvania, told the Huffington Post she asked Betty Govern, or Nana Betty for short, to stand beside her at her May 2 nuptials simply because she is one of her best friends.
And while the octogenarian repeatedly asked her granddaughter if she was sure she wanted her to be a bridesmaid, Nana Betty ended up having a blast – choosing to get on the party bus with the wedding party instead of ‘going home to rest’.
