Doha – Beautiful patterned fabric, mixed oversized abstract floral prints, unusual, feminine, flowing with the finest frills and trimmings is how one would describe Maryam al Darwish’s designs.

A recent fashion design graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar), Darwish presented her senior collection, titled Details, along with her first independent Ramadan collection at the W Doha Hotel & Residences recently.

In it, Darwish has experimented with volume and unusual, edgy cuts, while the Ramadan collection envisioned edgy designs, colours, embroidery, and silhouettes for Ramadan.

In addition, I experimented with volume and unusual, edgy cuts. As a designer, it is essential to make your collection look cohesive; therefore, I used one print on each and every garment and reintroduced the colours within the print as solid fabric,” explained Darwish.
