Hong Kong police arrest pro-democracy protesters after Christmas Eve clash

Police in Hong Kong have arrested 12 protesters who were blocking several roads in the Mongkok neighborhood. Pro-democracy demonstrators had returned to the site, which hundreds occupied for more than two months.

In the busy shopping district of Causeway Bay, protesters raised yellow crosses and umbrellas as they sang Christmas carols on Christmas Eve (24.12.2014). “Our Christmas wish is that I want real universal suffrage,” the demonstrators shouted.
