Mall of Qatar (MoQ) has announced that all mall tenants are exempt from rental costs from March until May.

The decision comes on the back of the current health situation and precautionary measures taken by the authorities to limit any potential spread of coronavirus, and to provide maximum support to businesses during this challenging period, MoQ has said in a statement.

“Taking into consideration the current situation and as part of our social responsibility, we want to showcase our commitment to investors, tenants, and partners to tackle the financial consequences at this stage. We value our partnership and are confident that through our united efforts, we can undertake challenges together, prevent further outbreaks and reach our common goal of setting MoQ as the leading mall in Qatar and the region,” Mall of Qatar CEO Khaled Sam Hosn said.

Rental obligations have been waived for all mall tenants for the months of March, April, and May, allowing them to reduce their monthly costs.

“MoQ, the nation’s mall, reaffirms its commitment towards Qatar, citizens and all residents, and continues to take preventative measures to secure a safe environment for customers,” the statement added.
