The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) Public Cleaning Department, represented by the Beaches and Islands Section, held a cleanliness drive at Shura’awa island. A huge quantity of waste, left behind by visitors, was recovered, including coal bags, plastic cans and containers. These were transported to designated locations for safe disposal. The Beaches and Islands Section has appealed to the visitors to maintain cleanliness in order to preserve the marine environment and aesthetic view of the beach.
