Rayyan claim QSL crown, Al Rayyan Club were eventually rewarded after a long dry spell of 21 years and emerged the champions of the Qatar Stars League after on Saturday. And they did it in a great style as they handed a 5-0 thrashing to Al Wakrah Club at the Al Sadd Stadium.

Al Rayyan went into the match knowing a point would be enough for them to secure the Falcon trophy, the first since 1995 for the club. With the likes of league top scorer Rodrigo Tabata, Sergio Garcia and Sebastian Soria leading Jorge Fossati’s attack, The Lions came into the match with the best firepower in the league.

The match started in a frenzy with the buzzing Rayyan players moving the ball swiftly and running their opponents all over the pitch. Al Wakrah however, won a free kick but Mohsine Moutaouali could only fire straight at goalkeeper Oumar Barry.
