Doha: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) announced that it plans to organise the ninth edition of Qatar International Food Festival in March.
QTA Head of Event and Festival Organisation Shaima Al Sheikh said in a press statement that the QTA has completed the tender stage and started the final stages of preparing for this festival, as well as opened the door for those wishing to participate in the festival.
Concerning the second edition of Qatar Shopping Festival, Al Sheikh said that this edition witnessed the participation of a large number of people, and explained that the first week of the festival has been successful, which its events dedicated for the Arabs, noting that the second week will target Indian culture, and that the calendar of Qatar Shopping Festival is full of events.
She explained that QTA’s plans in relation to the scheduled events did not change, and expected to see more participations in these events in the coming periods, especially in light of the popularity of tourism in Qatar after the exemption of visas for about 80 countries.
In this regard, the QTA has partnered with several Qatari companies to enrich the calendar of events and activities organized by the Authority in Qatar, including Q-Sport, which will launch the Winter Festival in its first edition based on events in open areas during the winter.
On the other hand, Qatar Tourism Authority today announced the completion of the first draw of four draws during Qatar Shopping Festival 2018, with a total cash prize of QR 500,000 and two BMW cars won by shoppers.
There are still three opportunities for visitors of Qatar Shopping Festival to win by shopping at any of the shops or restaurants in 13 participating shopping malls.
