His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also sent a similar cable.
Qatar participates in environment meeting
The Council of Arab Environment Ministers, chaired by Libya and with the participation of Ministers of member states and the General Secretariat of the Arab League, started its 31st session in Cairo yesterday. Qatar’s delegation is headed by Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz al-Sahlawi. The meeting will discuss the implementation of the resolutions of Arab Economic and Social Development Summits, especially those related to monitoring of radioactive pollution and integrated waste management in the Arab region.
The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) will close at 7pm on October 28 and reopen at 9am on October 30, it was announced on Twitter yesterday.
The Indian embassy has announced that it will remain closed on Sunday, October 27, on the occasion of Diwali.
Qatar is participating in the 58th session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organisation (ALCO), being held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Qatar’s delegation is headed by Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Legal Affairs Salim Rashid al-Muraikhi.
