Feast of fisticuffs as Doha Boxing tourney begins

Doha – The four-day Doha International Boxing Tournament 2015 began with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in Doha on Wednesday.

A total of 75 pugilists from 12 countries; Qatar, Egypt, Tunis, Morocco, Australia, Philippine, Jordan, India, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Afghanistan and Nepal, are participating in the competition which ends on May 23.

The competition is being hosted as parts of the preparations ahead of the 2015 World Boxing Championships which will be held in Doha from October 5 to 18.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Qatar Boxing Federation (QBF) President Yusuf Ali al Kazim and other dignitaries including QOC officials.
