Massive road works ahead in Qatar
The next five years are going to be tremendously important for Qatar.
Watch out for a lot of roadwork in Qatar within the next five years.
Yesterday, the minister of transport, H.E. Jassim bin Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti announced at the Qatar Transport Conference that Qatar will have highways of a total length of 8500 km, 200 new bridges and 30 new tunnels by 2020.
The Qatar Transport Conference took place at the Sheraton Hotel, Doha.
It was opened by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The minister of transport also added that the country has allocated 95% of its infrastructure investments to road developments.
He also mentioned that these projects are in addition to the already existing and recently completed transport projects like the new Hamad International Airport and the Hamad Port which will begin operation by the year end.
The Hamad International Airport has been ranked as one of the world’s ten best airports.
