THE Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the National Counter Terrorism Committee, and Qatar’s Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), have signed a letter of intent to combat terrorism and its financing.
The letter of intent was signed by Chairman of the Committee Major-General Abdul Aziz Abdullah al Ansari and Director-General of RACA Ibrahim Abdullah al Dhaimi.
The Letter of Intent aims to strengthen cooperation between the National Counter Terrorism Committee and RACA on matters relating to the fight against terrorism and its financing and to protect the charitable sector and maintain its integrity to prevent misuse of that sector for financing of terrorism.
The cooperation focuses on supporting national capacities and expertise and developing the necessary mechanisms to implement United Nations resolutions on the implementation of the targeted financial sanctions regime, thus enhancing the role of the State of Qatar in the international efforts to combat terrorism and its financing.
