A recently held number plate auction organisedby AlBahie at Katara Cultural Village on Wednesday saw some of the unique numbers getting sold for high values.
For instance, number plate 394 fetched a whooping QR800,000, whereas, number plate 113333 and 67666 were sold out for QR600,000 and QR525,000, respectively.
However, plates such as 696988 and 222551 were picked up by the enthusiasts for as less as QR19,000 and QR15,000 respectively, as reported by Qatar Tribune.
As a matter of fact, AbuIssa Holding is the promoter of the AlBahie Auction House that regularly holds auction for collectible items for local and international buyers.
The Chairman of AbuIssa Holding, Nabil Abu Issa, expressed his delight over the turnout of bidders despite the fact that the auction was basically meant for local buyers and was for the Qatari number plates.
He added that Qatar has gained a reputation internationally as a market for collectible items in the last few years and the opening of AlBahie Auction had added to its reputation.
