HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has sent a written message to Mali’s Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Boubou Cisse pertaining to bilateral relations and means of boosting them. The ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mali, Ahmed bin Abdulrahman al-Sunaidi, handed the message during a meeting with Cisse in Bamako.

MoI, RACA to combat terrorism financing
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Counter Terrorism Committee, and Qatar’s Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), have signed a letter of intent in the field of combating terrorism and its financing.
The letter of intent was signed by committee chairman Major General Abdul Aziz Abdullah al-Ansari and RACA Director General Ibrahim Abdullah al-Dhaimi.
The letter of intent aims to strengthen co-operation between the National Counter Terrorism Committee and RACA in matters relating to the fight against terrorism and its financing as well as to protect the charitable sector and maintain its integrity to prevent misuse.
This co-operation focuses on supporting national capacities and expertise and developing the necessary mechanisms to implement United Nations resolutions on the implementation of the targeted financial sanctions regime, thus enhancing the role of the State of Qatar in the international efforts to combat terrorism and its financing.

Qatar attends Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment
The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs has participated in the Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment, organised by International Organisation for Migration and the Institute for Human Rights and Business, in Bangkok.
Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Hassan Mohammed al-Obaidly and ministry representative in Geneva Mahmoud Sadiqi presented the experiences of the State of Qatar in the responsible recruitment and initiatives carried out by the state on this matter.
The two-day forum was attended by governments, international organisations, civil society organisations, representatives of trade unions and a number of major international companies.
Participants praised the steps and measures taken by Qatar to combat unethical recruitment and employment and imposing fees on workers.

Qatar participates in Amman workshop

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs has participated in a workshop on settlement centres and the MENA Shelter and Settlements Forum, which was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The two-day workshop, which concluded yesterday, is the first of its kind in the region and targets staff and specialists in shelter centres, experts and academics in order to exchange experiences and knowledge among countries regarding the regional humanitarian shelters and to discuss the latest methods used.
The workshop included case studies of previous experiences on centres’ responses in the Middle East and North Africa and reviewed the ideas of regional shelters and settlements and presented best practices.

Maritime shooting range in operation
The Directorate of Moral Guidance of the Ministry of Defence announced that the maritime shooting range, located 40km east of Mesaieed, near Fisht al-Hadid will be active on daily basis until July 23 from 6am to noon.
The shooting range is approximately 40km from Mesaieed port, near to Fisht al-Hadid from the east and extends to the south of Shra’oh island. The Directorate has called on those who frequent that area to exercise caution for their own safety.

Travel advisory for Qatari citizens  seeking medical treatment in India
An official source in the Department of Consular Affairs has called on Qatari citizens seeking medical treatment in India to observe instructions issued by the competent authorities in India.
The source said that for medical treatment in India certain conditions should be observed including obtaining a visa for the patient (treatment visa) from the Indian embassy in Doha and obtaining a visa (companion visa) for the co-patient, if required.
It is also necessary to obtain a letter signed and stamped from the hospital, showing the consent to receive the patient and the initial identification of the schedule of treatment, including the expected duration and estimated costs.
The source stated that following these instructions allow patients and their companions to extend the visa duration when it is necessary.
The source also stated that Qatari citizens can visit the website of the Indian embassy in Qatar to get more information with regard to treatments in India.
