Qatar’s GDP touches QR764.8 billion in 2014

Doha – Qatar’s nominal gross domestic product (GDP) touched QR764.8 billion in 2014, according the National Accounts Bulletin released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) on Monday.

Analysing Qatar’s economic growth from 2007 to 2014, the report stated that Qatar is one of the fastest growing economies in the world as the country recorded an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11 percent during the period.

During 2007-2011, the report said, the annual percentage increase in the GDP was quite high as the production of crude oil and gas was on the rise. LNG production had reached its peak capacity by the end of 2011.

International prices of crude oil and gas had also played a key role in boosting the nominal GDP of Qatar, the report said.
