Qatar starts building world-class berths for private ships & boats

Doha: Qatar Ports Management Company (MWANI Qatar) has started the execution of a project to build 1,000 berths for private ships & boats at all ports of Qatar.

MWANI Qatar will jointly carry out the project with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to complete it within 18 months.

Announced in February 2017, the berths will be developed in Al Ruwais, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Dhakira harbours with capacity for 324, 436, 200 and 28 respectively.

The berths will be built according to latest international safety and quality standards.

The project aims to organize and provide solutions for owners of private boats within the framework of the Ministry of Transport and Communications strategy to plan and develop maritime transport networks in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

The construction works will include offshore drilling, construction of wave breaks, and the establishment of a floating marina equipped with water, electricity and lighting services, as well as the necessary service and navigational aids.
