Dramatic moment escape artist almost drowned during daring stunt to promote a Criss Angel show
An escape artist was forced to cancel the opening night of a Criss Angel magic show after nearly drowning during a preview trick hours before.
Spencer Horsman and his co-stars took to the street outside New Jersey’s State Theatre to garner publicity on Tuesday afternoon.
Locking himself inside a 30-inch glass box of water, Horsman was then lifted up by a crane and spun around for two-and-a-half minutes.
But the crowds’ gasps of amazement turned to panic as it became clear he couldn’t work out how to open the last lock, Pix 11 reported.
As his arms flailed wildly, the crew rushed to lower him from the crane and emergency services arrived on scene.
Eventually, he was pulled out of the box and placed in a stretcher bound for local hospital.
