Multiple deaths at college in US state of Oregon
Local police have said that the shooter “is no longer a threat” after he opened fire at a community college in the US state of Oregon. Multiple deaths have been reported.
Oregon State Police said in a statement on Thursday that the shooter at the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon “is no longer a threat.”
The Douglas County Fire Department wrote on its Twitter account that an “active shooter scene is code 4. Multiple casualties all pt’s transported.”
Local media reported multiple casualties, with counts putting the figure between seven to 15 people dead. However, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced that the death toll had risen to 13 people.
