Qatar Population 2,477 Million by End of June
Doha, August – Monthly statistics published Saturday by Qatar’s Ministry of Development Planning said that the population in the State of Qatar reached 2.477 million people in June, comprising a 5.65% increase compared to the same period of last year, which was 2.345 million people.
The June issue of ‘Qatar: Monthly Statistics’ showed that visitor who entered Qatar through Abu Samra Crossing during the period January to June reached 523,160 compared to 615,856 visitors in same period last year.
As for traffic related statistics, The number of traffic violations were down 22.23% to 110,606 traffic violations registered in June. The number of newly registered cars declined 8.86% month-on-month (MoM) to 6,868 new cars.
The money supply (M2) amounted to QR 494 billion, a decrease of 0.71% MoM compared to May 2016. while total cash deposits in commercial banks for the month of June was QR 684 billion, up by 0.16% over the month of May 2016.
