Strong Northern winds to cause dust storm

Doha: Strong Northern winds of over 21 knots causing dust storm with poor horizontal visibility of less than 4kms is currently reported by the Qatar Meteorology Department. The department has urged sea goers to avoid marine activities due to fluctuating weather conditions.

The department further said that there are also chances of rain accompanied by thunder at sea.

Meanwhile in its daily report it has said that weather inshore until 6 pm on Friday will be slightly dust to dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times with chances of scattered rain thundery at times, warning of expected thundery rain at places associated with sudden strong wind.

Wind inshore will be southeasterly to northeasterly 06 to 16 knot/25 knot during thundery rain. Offshore, it will be northwesterly to northeasterly 10 to 20 knot, reaching 30 knot at times.

Visibility will be 04 to 08/02 kilometer or less at places at times.

Sea state inshore will be 2-3 feet, rises to 4 feet at places at times, while offshore it will be 3-6 feet, rises to 10 feet at places at times.
