Headlining the event were five of Qatar’s most influential youth, representing the entrepreneurial sector— Maryam Al Badr, Nasser Al Naemi, Khalid Al Jufairi and Amal Shammari – who spoke to the theme of the night “Transforming Obstacles into Opportunities.” Each shared with the audience personal anecdotes and stories from their journeys to success as young entrepreneurs.

Open Mic Night has emerged as one of the Doha’s most popular events as a result of the US Embassy Doha’s Young Writers Program (YWP).  YWP has inspired thousands of young people in Qatar to read, write and think critically about important topics in society while practicing their English language and critical thinking skills.

For the past 4 years, students from 135 Ministry schools have participated in the Young Writers Program and its annual writing competition.
