Afghan official: 12 demining workers killed in Taliban attack
Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — Taliban insurgents killed 12 demining workers in southern Helmand province in an attack on Saturday morning, a spokesman for the provincial governor, Omar Zwak, told CNN.
Afghan security forces who arrived at the scene of the attack, in an area between the Shorabak and Nad Ali districts, killed three of the militants and arrested four others.
The nationalities of the demining workers has not yet been confirmed.
