A drug trafficker was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined QR200,000, in addition to paying a fine of QR1000.
The Criminal Court in Doha also ordered his immediate deportation from Qatar on serving his jail term.
He was caught trying to smuggle 2.9 kg of marijuana worth QR750,000 in his briefcase, at Hamad International Airport.
