The new updates to the travel and return policy to Qatar announced by the Ministry of Health last August 31 will come into effect on Sunday, September 4 at 6 pm, the time of arrival in Doha.

Al Sharq website provides the most important information on travel and return policy to Qatar in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health website:

It is the responsibility of travelers to find out about any changes to the travel and return policy through official sources and websites before planning to travel to Qatar.

– Travelers must adhere to the procedures in force in the State of Qatar to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus at all times.

The current country classification lists (red list) have been cancelled.

Quarantine is no longer mandatory for all travelers coming from abroad, however, travelers who are confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 after their arrival in the State of Qatar must undergo quarantine procedures in accordance with the procedures followed in the State of Qatar.

– Citizens and residents in the State of Qatar must take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within a period of (24) hours upon arrival in the State of Qatar at one of the health centers of the Ministry of Public Health or private medical centers, noting that the health status will be updated in the Ehteraz application to become in color (Grey) If the test procedure is not complied with.

– Visitors must bring a certificate of the Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (PCR) with a negative result valid for (48) hours or the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) with a negative result valid for (24) hours, from the time of the scheduled flight to the State of Qatar, noting that the Rapid Self-Test (Rapid Antigen Self-Test) Not suitable for travelers coming from abroad.

Citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries must download and activate the Ehteraz application on their mobile phones using a local or international SIM card, knowing that they are excluded from the electronic pre-registration.

– All other categories other than the above-mentioned are obligated to download and activate the Ehteraz application on their mobile phones using a local or international SIM card, in addition to registering through the pre-registration system for those coming to the State of Qatar through the website (www.ehteraz.gov. qa) within at least (3) days before arrival and uploading all relevant documents in accordance with the following:​

* Requirements:

– Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Rapid antigen test (RAT).

Antibody testing in case of receiving a conditionally approved vaccine.

*Action:

Passengers are free to choose to upload these documents during the electronic registration stage or show them to the responsible officials at the air, land or sea ports.

* Requirements:

Vaccination certificates or recovery certificates​

* Action:

Uploading these documents during the online registration stage is optional.​

* List of licensed and conditionally approved vaccines by the Ministry of Health:​

Licensed Vaccines:

– Pfizer / Biontec (Comernate) – 2 doses​

– Moderna (Spikefax) – 2 doses

– AstraZeneca (Coveshield / Oxford / Vaxevia) – 2 doses

Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (one dose only)

Conditionally approved vaccines:

– Sinopharm – 2 doses

​ – Sinovac – 2 doses​

– Sputnik (V) – 2 doses​

Cofaxine – two doses

Travelers who are fully immunized outside the country with one of the vaccines licensed by the Ministry of Public Health in the State of Qatar must submit the (original) vaccine certificate and other supporting documents written in Arabic or English proving that they have received the vaccine. The following information must be available in the vaccine certificates:

– The name of the traveler, provided that it matches the passport.

Dose dates by type of vaccine (one dose of Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine and two doses of other vaccines).

– Type / name of the vaccine.

– Vaccine batch serial number and QR Code (if any).

* Ehteraz Application Policies:

Passengers coming to the State of Qatar must download and activate the “Ehteraz” application on their mobile phones upon arrival at the country’s ports. To do this, the traveler must obtain the following:

– A SIM card from one of the service providers in the State of Qatar (Ooredoo or Vodafone). Or an international SIM card.

– Mobile internet connection.

The smartphone must support Android 6 or later or IOS 13.5 or later.

– Download and install the application on the mobile either via Google Play, Apple App Store, or from any search engines on the Internet.

Note that SIM cards and smart phones are available for purchase at Hamad International Airport and Abu Samra outlet if the traveler does not have them before arrival.

The health status of the application must be in green, so that the person can enter the public facilities in the country.

– The health status of the fully vaccinated people in the State of Qatar will remain green with a golden frame to indicate that they are excluded from the quarantine.

– The health status in the Ehteraz application for citizens, residents and visitors who received the vaccine outside the State of Qatar will remain green without a golden frame until their vaccine data is updated in the system or through the website for vaccinations outside the State of Qatar.

The health status of the quarantined application will remain in red until the negative result of the COVID-19 free test appears.​

Diplomats, administrative card holders and VIP visitors coming on official visits to the country are excluded from this procedure.

Test fees:

– PCR test: 160 QR.

​- Serology Antibody test: QR 50​
