Le Figaro newspaper indicated that the World Cup is expected to start within 50 days, as host country Qatar continues its activity in order to welcome the participating teams and football fans from all over the world in the best conditions. The report indicated that before the start of the World Cup on November 20 in Qatar, preparation work continues day and night to prepare major hotels and other accommodation on time, before the arrival of more than one million fans for the first World Cup of its kind to be organized in the Middle East. One of the twin towers, 211 meters high, in the shape of an arc, will receive VIP FIFA guests who will stay, for thousands of euros per night, in rooms that are supposed to be available in October. The report stressed that Qatar World Cup organizers confirm that all accommodation will be ready on time. It also offers a number of accommodation options that include all budgets and places, there are residential accommodations and hotel rooms. The Doha port will receive three cruise ships with a capacity of up to 13,000 people for 180 to 800 euros per night. For just over €400 a night, some fans will be accommodated in traditional but luxurious beachfront tents on the creek north of Doha, complete with bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and other luxury amenities.
Reception of fans
Beneath the two skyscrapers, sandy mountains line the steps of the Lusail waterfront, near the stadium of the same name that will host the final on December 18. “We are working very hard and intensively to complete all the preparations in a timely manner,” an engineer involved in the project told AFP. 40 kilometers from Lusail, in the semi-desert Barwa Barahat neighborhood of the South, in this new neighborhood, small apartments have been built for fans of average purchasing power, who will pay approximately 90 euros a night, in accommodations 10 kilometers from the first metro station. The World Cup organizers promise that all accommodations will be ready on time.
Qatar, for its part, continues to prepare a range of accommodations to keep up with the influx of visitors, so brightly colored prefab cabins, located near the airport, can be rented for about $200 per night for two people. In Doha Port, three cruise ships will be able to accommodate up to 13,000 people for €180-800 per night. For just over €400 a night, some fans will be accommodated in traditional but luxurious beachfront tents on the creek north of Doha, complete with bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and other luxurious amenities.
Accommodation options
While 80% of the 30,000 hotel rooms in Doha are booked by FIFA itself, the few suites remaining on the market are advertised at more than 5,500 euros per night. “There are a lot of negotiations going on about prices,” said an official in the tourism sector in Doha. Nasser Al-Khater, CEO of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, said in a television interview this week that official accommodations are being subsidized to prevent prices from skyrocketing. But the private sector, which also provides housing, has the right to set the price it deems appropriate.” In addition to the multiplicity of options and the possibility of hosting World Cup fans in other Gulf cities near Doha.
