The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Saturday attended the second day’s second session of Munich Security Conference during which German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke.
The session was attended by a number of their excellencies heads of delegations participating in the conference.
On the sidelines of the conference, HH the Amir met with President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.
The meeting dealt with bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest.
He also met with US Acting Secretary of Defence Patrick Shanahan and his accompanying delegation.
HH the Amir also met US Chair of House Foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel and US Representative from Texas’ 34th district Filemon Vela.
The meetings focused on the strategic bilateral relations between Qatar and the United States of America, particularly in the military and defence field, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
