As strange as it may sound, Doha has increasingly been encountering cases of fraudsters trying to rob people after spitting on them in the streets.
A few days ago, an Asian expatriate was robbed of QR7,500 by a man who spat on him before stealing his wallet containing the money near Souq Waqif.
Similarly, an Indian office worker in the Hilal Area near went through the same ordeal on Wednesday evening. However, the robbery turned out to be a failed attempt due to the alertness of the victim.
There were other experiences that have been reported by Gulf Times that narrate the similar experiences of victims who were robbed by thugs at locations near the Doha Bus Station.
A businessman was robbed of QR22,500 after a man spat on him and then offered to wipe off the spittle.
Furthermore, yet another victim lost QR3,500 after a fraudster threw something on his face that left his eyes moist in no time. He said he also noticed spit on the lower half of his long cargo trouser.
Given such instances, it is now felt that authorities should take quick action to stop the mass robbery and nab the culprits.
