A video showing an Irish man fighting off a mob of Istanbul shopkeepers who attacked him with sticks and chairs in the middle of a busy street has gone viral in Turkey.

The footage shows the man, dressed in white shorts and T-shirt, walking into a small shop in Istanbul’s Aksaray district and opening a fridge, causing dozens of water bottles to fall out.
Seconds later, the enraged owner of the shop emerges and starts attacking the man, and the situation soon escalates into a full-on street brawl.
