An expat has been sentenced to a 1-yr suspended jail term by a Doha Criminal Court. The expat was found guilty of stealing building materials from a warehouse located in the Doha Industrial Area.
According to a report published in the local Arabic daily Arrayah the defendant, who is a Nepali citizen, used to be a guard at the company from whose warehouse he stole the building materials.
The Nepali expat was reportedly assisted by 3 other people in stealing the material, which they later on sold for a meagre sum of QR1500. The report, however, states that the accomplices of the defendant were not aware of the fact that they were stealing the material.
In light of the evidence, the honourable court found the defendant guilty, however, his accomplices were acquitted as they had not taken part in crime and were ignorant about the nature of the job the defendant had sought their assistance for.
