New mortgage rules scrapped in Sweden
The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority has backed down from plans to introduce amortisation requirements in Sweden after courts ruled it had no legal grounds for changing the rules.
The Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) issued a statement Thursday after the Administrative Court of Appeal of Jönköping, among others, found that FI is not entitled by law to introduce amortisation rules.
