Passenger planes to Dublin remained “uninformed” for hours on Mallorca as TUI’s flight faced a delay of more than 24 hours.

The flight from Palma de Mallorca Airport was scheduled to depart on Saturday at 1:35 pm, but one passenger said that the traveler was at the departure gate from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm without the latest information from the travel agency. I reported that I had to wait.

Passengers will then be arranged to spend another unscheduled night in Mallorca and will return to Dublin later this afternoon on a rescheduled flight.

A TUI spokesman apologized for Sunday’s delay, but said, “Keeping passengers up to date and providing accommodation, meals and light meals.”

However, Simon Bridgeman, a passenger in Shankill, Dublin, said the contact from the company was “quite terrible” and that the passengers were “interfered” for hours at the airport.

“It’s pretty terrible, lack of communication, it was probably the hardest part to be honest with you,” traveled with his wife, two children, his parents, a sister and her two sons. The two fathers who were doing said a package trip.

“Probably about three kinds of hearsay anecdotes and stories were flying around, but no one knew the facts. [of] What was the problem? “He said.

“You can wait for that two hours … [they said] “There was a problem with the plane and the flight was canceled today. I’ll sort out something else.”-Then it fosters an element of goodwill. But without it, people just get angry.

“All the passengers had a family and some were older. I had parents in their late 70s. I had an older sister and two sons … and one of my nephews was a heat stroke. He got sick and was in a terrible situation.

“I couldn’t leave the airport because I wasn’t sure if the plane would land or depart. I didn’t have the information.”

Bridgeman said all passengers will be checked in to temporary accommodation that night after 10 pm and it is still unclear when they will be able to return home at the airport.

“We all had to go through passport management again, and then we’re trying to get back the bags and so on. That was very annoying,” he said.

Technical problem
He added that his family is due to return home late Sunday.

A TUI spokesperson said Saturday’s flight was delayed while new aircraft were being procured “due to technical issues with the aircraft scheduled for flight,” and the company’s flight to and from Dublin was delayed this weekend. He added that it was not canceled.

“We apologize to our TOM1681 passengers from Palma to Dublin for their unfortunate delay due to technical issues with the aircraft,” said a spokesman.

“We know how frustrating the delays are and we do everything we can to get our customers home as planned. We keep our passengers up to date and stay overnight. They also are entitled to EU 261 compensation and have been taught how to make their claims.

“The flight has been rescheduled to depart this afternoon. We thank the passengers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”
