Passenger planes to Dublin remained “uninformed” for hours on Mallorca as TUI’s flight faced a delay of more than 24 hours.
The flight from Palma de Mallorca Airport was scheduled to depart on Saturday at 1:35 pm, but one passenger said that the traveler was at the departure gate from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm without the latest information from the travel agency. I reported that I had to wait.
Passengers will then be arranged to spend another unscheduled night in Mallorca and will return to Dublin later this afternoon on a rescheduled flight.

Bridgeman said all passengers will be checked in to temporary accommodation that night after 10 pm and it is still unclear when they will be able to return home at the airport.
“We all had to go through passport management again, and then we’re trying to get back the bags and so on. That was very annoying,” he said.

He added that his family is due to return home late Sunday.

A TUI spokesperson said Saturday’s flight was delayed while new aircraft were being procured “due to technical issues with the aircraft scheduled for flight,” and the company’s flight to and from Dublin was delayed this weekend. He added that it was not canceled.
“We apologize to our TOM1681 passengers from Palma to Dublin for their unfortunate delay due to technical issues with the aircraft,” said a spokesman.
“We know how frustrating the delays are and we do everything we can to get our customers home as planned. We keep our passengers up to date and stay overnight. They also are entitled to EU 261 compensation and have been taught how to make their claims.
“The flight has been rescheduled to depart this afternoon. We thank the passengers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”
