Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan), one of the centers under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work affiliated with The Ministry of Social Development and Family, organized yesterday the “Senior Persons” Forum for the center’s members, in conjunction with the Arab Day for Older Persons.

The forum was attended by Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and senior officials in the state.

During the forum, a video clip was shown of the center’s members, in which they shared their stories, feelings, and experiences in joining the “Ehsan” clubs. During the clip, they sent messages of thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership, the State of Qatar, and everyone who contributed to supporting and caring for them.

The ceremony also included the “From Generation to Generation” segment, which addressed messages of appreciation and respect from the young to the “elderly” category, and reviewed the cognitive and life experiences that the new generation of adults has acquired.

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said in a post on his official account on the “ X” platform: “ Our fathers and mothers, you are of great esteem, you have all the appreciation and love for your sacrifices and efforts in building our future and the future of our country. You are our role models and the wealth of our country, and from you we derive our determination to move forward in building our dear country, inspired by your determination and your long-standing experience.” Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, expressed her great appreciation for the great ones, saying: Our fathers and mothers, “of great esteem,” you are our true wealth.. You are the generation that laid the foundations of our modern renaissance, and planted the righteous seedling, so that today it has sprouted and ripened in prosperity and stability, thanks to your upbringing of us on the foundations of good morals and Islam, so that the world has heard of our country’s achievements and its value among nations, and this is thanks to God and then thanks to your upbringing of successive generations of the State of Qatar.

Her Excellency stressed the commitment to continue providing support to the elderly and meeting their needs: (Our response to everything you order is the least we can offer, as you are the people of virtue, and it is righteousness to meet your needs, listen to your requests, and strive with all our efforts to achieve them. We are committed to improving the quality of services provided to you, and we are always working to review everything related to facilitating your lives.

Manal Al-Mannai: The celebration crowns the contribution of the elderly to development

Mrs. Manal Al-Mannai, Executive Director of the Ehsan Center, stressed that the elderly category occupies a distinguished place on the list of priorities and concerns of the wise leadership, as this was clearly demonstrated in the enactment of legislation and laws that preserve their material, moral and social rights. These legislations also help them overcome the challenges of their age stage, noting that this comes in appreciation from the state for their role and efforts that contributed to achieving comprehensive development in Qatar, while praising at the same time the great respect that our fathers and mothers enjoy from all segments of Qatari society, which is considered an essential and authentic part of the culture of Qatari society, which descends from Islamic and Arab values ​​that urge righteousness towards parents and care for the elderly.
