At a restaurant in Old Al Ghanim area the health control section of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has detected the use of expired foodstuff to prepare meals.
This was found out in an inspection campaign conducted by the section at a number of food outlets in Doha.
A violation report was issued to the erring restaurant for flouting Law No.8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control, as reported by Gulf Times.
It may be mentioned that In December, the technical control section at Al Rayyan Municipality conducted a campaign that resulted in the detection and issuance of 37 violation reports pertaining to the building and excavation unit.
Fourteen of these were settled through reconciliation after paying the stipulated fines.
In the same period, 27 warnings and notices to remove violations were also issued.
90 warnings have been issued in connection with the State Properties Unit, some cases of which are still under process, five buildings have been evacuated by force, and eight buildings issued evacuation orders. The unit collected QR7,500 as fines.
Al Shamal Municipality conducts pest control campaign
Meanwhile, the Al Shamal Municipality conducted a pest and rodent control campaign in areas within its jurisdiction, and insecticide were sprayed as part of the initiative.
Moreover, MME’s Al Gharafa office in Al Rayyan Municipality spotted and removed 16 abandoned vehicles in December 2016.
The office also issued eight violation reports, which were all resolved through reconciliation with the offenders in accordance with the relevant law. Also, 56 warnings were issued to remove violating vehicles.
Again, the Public Gardens Department at MME beautified Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College on the occasion of the inauguration of its 12th batch.
The department also planted more than 300 flower basins in addition to other plants.
Besides, around 30,000 seasonal flowers were planted along the corridors and gardens of the college.
