HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Iran, Mohamed Javad Zarif. During the call, the latest developments in the region, especially in Iraq, as well as ways to reduce tension and spare the people of the region further escalation in tension were discussed.

Qatar condemns Mogadishu bombing
Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the bombing which occurred in the Somali capital Mogadishu, resulting in deaths and injuries. In a statement issued, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever the motives and causes.

Qatar signs  MoU with ILO, Sweden
The government of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Sweden and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-operate on a number of labour-related areas. The agreement was signed in Doha by Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Mohamed Hassan al-Obaidli, ambassador of Sweden, Anders Bengtcen, and Head of the International Labour Organisation Project Office for Qatar, Houtan Homayounpour.
