A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a Filipino maid to one year in jail and also directed authorities to deport her upon the completion of her sentence.
The maid in question was found guilty of stealing a sum of QR9000 from his employer by using his ATM card. CCTV footage showed her withdrawing the money from a cash machine using her employer’s card.
Upon questioning, the maid confessed to using the card and also revealed that she had spent a sum of QR1200 from the said amount and transferred QR3000 to her home country from the same amount.
The honourable court in its verdict also ordered her to pay the remaining cash, QR4,800, to the victim.
