Toxic leak causes partial evacuation at the International Space Station
Astronauts on the International Space Station have left the American section after a toxic substance leak, according to the Russian Federal Space Agency. The six-member crew is reportedly safe.
The American segment of the International Space Station was isolated following a leakage from the cooling system on Wednesday. According to the Russian space agency Roskosmos, the situation is under control and that the health of the astronauts is not in jeopardy.
“The crew’s safety was ensured thanks to the quick actions of the astronauts and ground control in Moscow and Houston,” the agency said, adding that NASA was analyzing the situation.
