A devastating fire burning in Gironde, southwestern France, for nearly a week has regained its intensity as the country endured the “Apocalypse of Heat.”

In Monaco and France, heat waves have become rites of passage in the summer, with record temperature and high fever warnings each year, leading to unpleasant lives at best and, in the worst case, deadly lives.

The southwestern and western parts of France have been particularly hit by this latest heat wave, with 15 divisions receiving “red alert” warnings, the highest level achievable.

The heat of the heat creates dry vegetation, increasing the likelihood of a fire. This is the case in the Girondins, where 14,000 hectares of land have been burned down since last Tuesday and thousands of people have been displaced. So far, about 19,000 Tourists and residents are told to pack up and leave.

In Teste-de-Buch, “the situation is getting worse,” the prefecture said in a tweet. “The fire has reached the sea and is heading south.”

Social media is bustling with video and photo descriptions of witnesses to the fire that struck the lagoon beach south of Dune du Pila. You can see flames 30 meters high, and you can see horrific sights and horrific tragedy.

In a press release, the Interior Ministry announced in a press release that reinforcements are underway and that three more planes will be added to the six bombers already engaged. It’s also sad that 200 additional firefighters with 11 trucks were dispatched to join 1,700 on the ground.

“There are a lot of resources in the area, but the wind must go west and north, so the fire shouldn’t reach the land sector,” said AFP Lieutenant Colonel Arnaud Mendus.

The heat wave is intended to peak by noon on Monday, as if the fire wasn’t enough, making the work of the fire brigade even more dangerous.

A red warning issued on Sunday recommends that residents of the relevant area follow “absolute vigilance” in the face of “extremely dangerous phenomena”, Charant, Charant Maritim, Cote d’Armor, Covers the divisions of Dordogne, Finistair, Gers, Gironde, Ille-et-Vilaine, Landes, Loire-Atlantique, Lot-et-Garonne, Maine-et-Loire, Morbihan, Deux-Sèvres, Vendée.

A total of 51 sectors, including the Alpes Maritimes and thus Monaco, have received orange warnings, with inland temperatures ranging from 35 to 36 degrees Celsius and coastal temperatures from 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. An orange alert means that people need to be “extremely vigilant”.

In addition, according to Prev’air, the national air quality prediction center, high fever causes high levels of air pollution in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

France is not the only country suffering from the heat. Forest fires are also rampant in Portugal and Spain. The UK also issued a red warning against extreme heat for the first time on Tuesday, reaching a maximum of 36 degrees southeast.
