Al-Khulaifi stressed, in an interview with Radio Monte Carlo International, “RMC”, that the championship is for the entire Middle East and the entire Arab world, and this was evidenced by the intense presence of Arab fans in the matches of Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Tunisia, stressing that the championship brought together fans from everywhere.
Al-Khulaifi said that despite some criticism leveled by the media for organizing the tournament before its launch, everything changed after the fans arrived in Qatar, and everyone saw how the people of Qatar opened their hearts to the visitors of the World Cup and expressed their culture positively, adding that one of the media asked about the truth. “We are proud of our country and what we have done. I think it was a perfect World Cup. There are still two games left and I hope everything goes well, but it was a World Cup on a very high level,” he added.
Al-Khulaifi stressed that the presence of three players from Paris Saint-Germain in the World Cup semi-finals, such as Moroccan Ashraf Hakimi, Argentine Leo Messi, and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, is evidence that the team is the best team in the world, stressing that he wishes the French team to win the final match. For the World Cup, but he also will not be sad if the Argentine national team crowns Messi, adding, “If I could, I would give it to both of them.”
