A two-year jail term awarded to a woman by a criminal court has been upheld by the Court of Appeal.
Both courts in their verdicts have found the woman guilty of wrongdoing and fraud. The woman has reportedly taken the advantage of her husband’s old age and illness and tricked him into transferring his property and bank credit to her and her relatives’.
The woman, reportedly in her 40s, had taken the signature of her husband on a sale deed and a fund transfer document, of which the husband wasn’t aware due to his old age, Arrayah reported.
The entire issue came to light, when the son of the victim, from another wife, found that his father had sold the property and withdrawn all money from the bank. So, he confronted his father about the issue and came to know that his father knew nothing about it, following the son decided to file a case against the woman.
