The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will start constructing a new multi-level interchange on the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route project, aimed at upgrading the existing roundabout.
In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, new routes for the four loops will be available on Sunday until the required revamp comes to a close
The new multi-level interchange will open in 2018 and will increase the existing road capacity from three lanes to five lanes in each direction.
Road users planning to travel from Lusail to Doha will need to drive west across the bridge towards Salwa Road, make a U-turn at the first roundabout, before taking the right turn exit towards Doha.
Road users planning to travel from Salwa Road to Al Ruwais will need to drive east across the bridge towards Lusail, make a U-turn at the first roundabout, before taking the right turn exit towards Al Ruwais.
Ashghal has said there will be no other changes to the existing travel routes between Doha, Al Ruwais, Lusail and Salwa Road.
