CID foils exchange of QR6 mn fake currency
Doha – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has foiled one of the biggest exchange of counterfeit currency operations estimated at QR6 million.
The counterfeit currency include $100 and QR500 notes by an Arab national, who was trying to exchange the money for QR3 million.
The Economic Crime Investigation Unit at the CID received information that an Arab national has started selling and exchanging counterfeit currency of $100 and QR500 notes by attracting those who wish to get rich quick.
