An expat was sentenced to imprisonment for one year and subsequent deportation from the country upon serving the sentence by a Doha Criminal Court. The expat was found guilty of stealing money from a parked vehicle.
According to a report published in the local Arabic daily Ar-Rayah, the defendant had broken into the vehicle of the victim after the latter had parked it outside a shopping mall.
The victim upon coming back to his car found that one of the windows of his car had been broken and a bag that contained QR36000 was no longer in the car, following which the victim filed a report with the police.
The police in a very professional manner undertook a forensic analysis of the crime scene and collected forensic evidence, which enabled them to catch the culprit through his fingerprints.
