DOHA: For a change, the workers of Galfar Al Misnad’s Dukhan Projects put aside their construction caps and put on their dancing shoes instead, to support their colleagues who performed at a glittering event organised by the leading construction firm to celebrate International Workers’ Day.
In line with Galfar Al Misnad’s strong commitment to environmentally sustainable processes in all their activities, the overarching theme of the evening highlighted the critical topic of “Energy and Water Conservation.”
The celebration, titled Ekta meaning “Togetherness” in Hindi, was the company’s joint tribute to their workers, whose hard work and dedication have been the building blocks of the company’s success and its resolve to raise awareness and conduct socially responsible practices.
The function was presented by Qatar’s new Malayalam and Hindi radio channels, Radio Suno 91.7FM and Radio Olive 106.3FM; in association with Tarsheed. The evening was graced by guests of honour, Syed Shibul Qarnain and Muhannad Naseer Al Kadi, who represented Tarsheed. The Executive Director of Galfar Al Misnad, Satish G Pillai, presented certificates of recognition and prizes to the Dukhan team for their exemplary achievements in safety.
The entertainment program that was compered in Hindi and Malayalam by the radio jockeys, showcased performances by many of the workers. The event’s theme of Energy and Water Conservation was exemplified by a captivating mime act conceptualized and performed by Galfar Al Misnad workers. Special awareness videos were also screened to emphasize the point of how every individual can take simple steps to make a huge difference in Energy and Water Conservation.
