Katara Hall and the Wisdom Square will today witness the opening of the third edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition — S’hail 2019, with the participation of more than 140 local and international companies from 20 countries.
The participating entities are considered among the most important and largest companies specialising in hunting equipment, weapons and falcons, Katara — the Cultural Village Foundation has said in a press statement.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, general manager of Katara, addressed a press conference along with Abdul Rahman Abdul Latif al-Mannai, executive director of the Social and Sports Support Fund (Da’am), in this regard yesterday.
Dr al-Sulaiti stressed that the third edition of S’hail would “be the most distinguished at every level, in terms of organisation, diversity, quality, innovation, the level of representation and participation, and the scope of cultural, artistic and entertainment events”.
He also noted the rise in the number of companies participating in S’hail 2019.
Dr al-Sulaiti took the opportunity to express gratitude for the Social and Sports Support Fund for its constant support of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition.
He highlighted that “this big event plays a significant role in preserving our national heritage and cultural values, as well as providing a great opportunity for the public, falconers, hunters, traders and visitors from around the world to explore and making it an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge, promotion of products and business deals”.
Al-Mannai said: “S’hail has become a milestone on the regional map of exhibitions related to hunting and falcons. The huge and expanding international participation every year gives confidence in the exhibition, its success and its importance.”
He pointed to the close link between the messages conveyed by S’hail and Da’am, adding that the Fund gives top priority to all activities and initiatives aimed at preserving customs and cultural heritage.
The current edition of S’hail will also see the distinguished participation of ministries, institutions and various government and official bodies, such as the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The launch of S’hail 2019 follows the success of the efforts made internationally by Katara to promote the exhibition.
This came through participation in famous international exhibitions in Germany and Great Britain, such as the British event, The Game Fair, as part of the comprehensive marketing plan prepared by the organising committee of S’hail 2019 to reach the largest number of entities and companies specialising in falcons and hunting equipment.
