Qatar’s e-government has published “Hukoomi Qatar” on its website, a reminder of the details of obtaining permanent residency in the State of Qatar, the eligible categories, and the method of submitting medicine electronically.
According to “Hukoomi Qatar”, permanent residence guarantees many advantages to its holders compared to the Qatari residence permit, as it provides them with services on a wider scale, such as job opportunities, real estate ownership, investment, education and health services.
He said that the electronic service allows specific categories of individuals to submit applications for permanent residence to the Ministry of Interior, follow up on the status of applications and attach the required documents.

He explained that the categories eligible for permanent residence are:
Children of Qatari women and Qatari men by naturalization
– Married to Qataris
– Those who are married to Qatari women
– Residents born in Qatar
– Residents born outside Qatar
** Steps to apply online:
– Log in with the smart card to the e-services portal of the Ministry of Interior.
– Select “Residency Services”, then “Permanent Residence”.
– Use the “Service Options” page to view the available options for permanent residence.
– Select “New Application” and select “Required Category” from the list of available categories to display the list of nominated persons (the user and his family) and the status of each of them (if qualified or not).
– Selecting the persons to whom new applications are to be submitted from the “List of Eligible Persons”, then pressing “Next” to move to the fee payment page, and pressing “Paying Fees” to move to the bank screen.
– Pay the prescribed fees by credit card or direct debit card, after which the system will display a message stating the successful completion of the transaction, in addition to the payment receipt, with the activation of the “Attach Documents” button.
Attach the required documents from the responsible committee, then submit the application.
– To attach the required documents: Choose “Attach Documents” on the Service Options page, then click on “Next”.
– To follow up on requests: select “Follow up on requests” on the Service Options page, then click on “Next”.
“Hukoomi Qatar” indicated that the user must possess a smart card to benefit from this service, noting that the prescribed fees for each application amount to 3,000 Qatari riyals.
