In order to make the main hospital ready for in-patient care, the Sidra Medical and Research Center has announced that the institution will be recruiting more than 3500 clinical and administrative staff members in the coming couple of years.

This will go up to over 1,500 by the end of the current year. However, we will need 5,000 staff to run the hospital when it becomes fully operational”.

About 18 vacancies for the position of physician in various departments are currently vacant at Sidra, a majority of which have to be filled by the end of this month. It appears the process towards achieving that has already been given a green light as Sidra seeks to cope up with the growing number of patients that it has started to receive. The Outpatient Clinic at Sidra is also scheduled to become fully functional by the end of this month since the commencement of its phased opening in May 2016.

The Outpatient Clinic is comprised of several branches of clinics such as paediatric outpatient and obstetrics care. The Paediatric specialties include psychiatry, dermatology, neonatology, urology, orthopaedics and plastics/craniofacial consultation clinics.

Sidra Outpatient Clinic is also accepting patients from associated hospitals such as Hamad Medical Corporation according to the referral system. In future, Sidra is expected to work more closely with other health institutions of the country as it is currently working on expanding its referral network.

Recently, Sidra released the findings of its internal patient survey. According to the findings of the said survey, which was undertaken by the Sidra Medical and Research Center, 92% of the patients who have attended the outpatient clinic during the past seven months were fully satisfied with the kind of treatment that was provided to them at Sidra.

The survey’s findings were based on the responses of nearly 800 participants or 7000 appointments that have taken place at Sidra since May until December 2016.

“Patient care is the most important thing for us here at Sidra and it is absolutely wonderful to hear about the results of the internal patient survey, the results are evidence of the hard work and commitment the staff at Sidra has shown towards patient well-being. Reports on patient satisfaction at the Sidra Outpatient Clinic was collected and reported in a transparent manner in order to ensure the deliverance of the best possible care to patients. These surveys are an ongoing process, which make our services better each passing year”, the Chief Executive Officer of Sidra, Peter Morris said.
