The Met Department in its latest weather report has stated that the country will continue to experience strong winds along with thundery rain in some areas today.
Conditions in the offshore areas are expected to remain windy along with high seas today. The wind speeds are expected to 23knots in the inshore areas and 25knots in the offshore areas accompanied by rain and thunder.
Yesterday, many places in the country, particularly in the South, received scattered rain and skies were cloudy at many places as well.
The Met Department via its official Twitter account said that rainy conditions are expected to continue until today afternoon.
Conditions today are expected to remain hazy to misty in some places, which would be followed by cloudy conditions pointing towards a chance of scattered rainfall in the country along with thunder and strong winds. Similar conditions are expected in the offshore areas and the sea level is expected to rise by about 8 feet due to the strong winds.
The minimum temperature of 15C in the country today is expected at Al Khor, Wakrah and Mesaieed, the minimum temperature in Doha is expected to be 16C whereas the maximum temperature in the country will hover in the range of 19C-22C.
Yesterday, a minimum temperature of 15C was recorded in Karana and 18C in the Doha airport area. The maximum ranged from 18C to 25C.
To provide information to motorists regarding the weather conditions and ensure their safety, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has started installing boards displaying weather conditions along highways.
