Parents main reason for success of students

DOHA: Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, said yesterday that the parents of the students are the reason for the excellence and success of their children as they provide a favourable home environment, support them and take interest in their education.

The Minister was speaking at an award ceremony organised to honour of Qatari students who won regional and international competitions during the 2017-2018 academic year in various fields, QNA reported.

He also thanked school principals and teachers who contributed to the achievements of students. The Minister praised the academic achievements achieved by Qatari students at the international level, saying that they indicate the strength of the educational competencies they have acquired in their schools.

He called on students not only to limit their ambition in order to receive the award, encourage them to develop themselves , and to pursue new horizons to serve their country and raise its name in international forums.

The Minister urged them to continue their excellence in the future so they can make their mark at international level, and contribute to the development of Qatar. He stressed that the communities can develop with excellence and creativity and increase the number of innovators in various fields.

The Minister honoured the winning students and awarded them with certificates of appreciation, in addition to the financial awards presented by Qatar National Bank as the official sponsor of the activities and activities of the Ministry, and prizes provided by Vodafone Qatar to encourage creativity and excellence in the educational and educational environment.

The Minister expressed his pride in the success of Qatari students in international competitions of high scientific standards during the 2017-2018 academic year, and receiving valuable international medals, and prizes, which enabled them to raise the name of Qatar in international forums.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education pointed out that the participation of students in international competitions enables them to contact their peers, learn about the best practices, and gain new experiences and skills that sharpen their skills and open up new horizons that enhance their academic achievement.

For her part, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Fawzia Abdulaziz Al Khater, congratulated the winning students and thanked their parents and school principals. She said that they have presented an honourable picture of their state of Qatar in the field of knowledge and knowledge at the regional and international levels.
