The security committee at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) on Thursday celebrated the graduation of the attendees of the 2022 World Cup security leadership qualification programme (silver level).
The programme, which lasted for one month, was attended by 22 officers involved in securing the 2022 World Cup.
The graduation was attended by Head of Competitive Establishments Unit Major-General Ali Mohammed al Rashid, Head of the Rehabilitation and Training Unit in the SC security committee Major Fahad Saeed al Subaey, Senior Manager at Project STADIA Falah Abdulla al Dosari, Vice-President University of Southern Mississippi Gordon Cannon and the programme lecturers.
Dosari congratulated the graduates for passing the silver level to be international experts after obtaining the international specialised certificate in security and safety of sports events, accredited by (INTERPOL) within the project (STADIA), which is one of the pioneering projects established by INTERPOL in 2012 with funding from Qatar.
Dosari said the project has implemented many programmes benefiting the organisation’s 194 member states to qualify their security personnel through workshops, courses and training programmes.
He added that the graduates received an international professional certification for safety and security at major international sporting events, with the aim of fostering knowledge and encouraging innovation to turn training into operational practice for international sporting events.
He said the knowledge management system within the STADIA project has transformed the work and cooperation mechanism of law enforcement agencies at Qatar, regional and international level.
The knowledge management system is the first online platform for the exchange of police and security information for major events, and the creation of a virtual network to exchange information and experiences on security challenges and optimal solutions.
