Doubletree by Hilton Doha – Al Sadd and Aleph Residences Doha – Curio Collection by Hilton in West Bay have appointed Daniel van Wyk as cluster general manager, it has been
announced.
Hilton is scheduled to open Doubletree by Hilton Doha – Al Sadd later this year and Aleph Residences Doha – Curio Collection by Hilton in West Bay within the first quarter of 2020, a statement said, noting that “experienced hotelier van Wyk relocates from London to spearhead the openings”. “Hilton commits to creating great careers and developing the best talent in the company while growing its exceptional hotel portfolio,” the statement added.
“Doubletree and Aleph Doha Residences’ teams are looking forward to two hotel openings in the coming months,” said Etienne Gailliez, country general manager, Doha.
British-South African Wyk has over 15 years of Hilton experience in various senior roles in four and five-star hotels across the UK. He began his career at the famed Langham Hilton in London and later joined The Waldorf Hilton as operational support manager before being promoted to director of operations. His career has seen him manage modern city and historic hotels, as well as govern multi-million pound refurbishment projects. Van Wyk is also a Shine programme assessor and mentor.
Scheduled to open next month, Doubletree by Hilton Doha – Al Sadd will provide guests with a complement of services and amenities, including 139 guest rooms and suites, five restaurants and bars, five meeting rooms, a modern fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour business centre. The hotel is minutes away from Mirqab Mall and less than two miles from the Metro station.
Aleph Residences Doha – Curio Collection by Hilton is set to open within the first quarter of 2020 and will boast of 240 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over 52 storeys. Each of the apartments will have “extraordinary views” over West Bay, Doha’s upscale business and diplomatic district in the modern east coast of the city and Doha’s contemporary skyline.
“Aleph Residences are set to be a luxurious home-away from home with one international restaurant, a trendy top-floor bar, top-floor state-of-the-art sporting facilities and swimming pool and a coffee lounge,” the statement added.
