Sadd beat Jaish to lift Emir Cup
DOHA – Brazilian striker Muriqui scored twice as Al Sadd Sports Club defeated El Jaish 2-1 to win the Emir Cup for the 15th time in a thrilling match at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Saturday.
The Brazilian scored in the second and 75th minute for Al Sadd, while Romarinho scored a consolation goal in the second minute of added time for El Jaish.
The trophy was presented by the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani to Al Sadd captain Talal Ali al Bloushi in the presence of a large number of spectators. The Emir also presented medals to players of El Jaish and team officials.
